Solving care needs by creating
innovative Living Labs
in elderly care homes.
Data4Growth is a project aimed at improving healthcare in nursing homes by integrating existing technologies to address key care needs through living labs. It focuses on enhancing data collection, providing real-time insights to caregivers, and improving residents' quality of life with solutions like pain monitoring and fall detection. By fostering collaboration between technology companies and healthcare providers, Data4Growth drives data-driven innovation to create more efficient, personalized care.
 The challenge
An example of Data4Growth in action is seen in the use cases of Intelliprove and Wi-Bo’s (Wissner-Bosserhoff) Safesense 3, both of which focus on improving care in nursing homes through innovative technologies.
Intelliprove offers a non-invasive solution for pain assessment, using video analysis of a resident’s face to measure heart rate, breathing, and stress. This technology helps healthcare providers better understand pain levels, especially in residents with dementia, who often struggle to communicate their discomfort.
The Safesense 3 from Wi-Bo is a sensor system that detects bed exits, movement, and moisture in residents. It replaces older camera systems prone to false alarms, offering a more reliable and non-intrusive solution for monitoring residents' safety and comfort.
